Sea and Golf merge in the north of Majorca

Being able to play a sport such as golf all year round, on first class courses and with views of the sea and the mountains, is something that you can do in very few places.

Mallorca, and specifically the north coast, is one of those destinations where golf can be played practically all year round. To this we must add the proximity to a gastronomic, leisure, sports or accommodation offer such as that offered by Alcudiamar, as well as good connections with nearby towns such as Alcudia or Pollença, and a distance of about 40 minutes by motorway to Palma International Airport.

In the north of Mallorca, and specifically very close to Alcudiamar, there are two courses whose characteristics make them some of the favourites of golf enthusiasts from all over the world.

Club de Golf Alcanada is, due to its location, a jewel among the Mediterranean clubs. Situated directly on the edge of the sea in the Bay of Alcudia, in an environment declared a protected natural area, it has been delighting amateurs of all levels since 2003. The course, under the design of the famous Robert Trent Jr, will put the best skills to the test, as we are talking about a course open to the sea where the wind is the key to every shot. The views of the island with the Alcanada lighthouse from almost every hole have become iconic.

Club de Golf Alcanada hosts numerous tournaments and events throughout the year, including the Grand Final of the Rolex European Challenge Tour. 

Golf Pollença is another of the most traditional clubs in the north of Mallorca. Inaugurated in 1986 with an original design by José Gancedo, in 2000 it was redesigned by Michael Pinner, from the famous Nicklaus Group studio.

On this occasion we are talking about another course integrated in harmony with nature, this time surrounded by small hills before the Serra de Tramuntana, which includes two of the longest holes in the whole of Mallorca. Choosing the right club will be fundamental to overcome the distance on these holes.

Golf Pollença is an intermediate level course, which like Club de Golf Alcanada complements its offers with shops, restaurants, golf school and many other additional services.
