The Monaco Yacht Club has witnessed the celebration of the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous 2024, the international networking and debate event that on 22 and 23 September welcomed different players from the international superyacht industry to the Principality. Architecture studios, start-ups, marinas, skipper associations and technology and sustainable solutions companies have gathered to share experiences and knowledge in Monaco, proclaimed ‘Capital of Advanced Yachting’.

Alcudiamar has been present for the first time in this meeting, which this year has celebrated its fourth edition. Mar Vera, head of Expansion and Sustainable Development at Alcudiamar, participated in the round table ‘How technology can optimise unique nautical experiences’, which debated how innovation and new applications can improve navigation experiences and communication between users and marinas, among other aspects. Also participating in the same panel were Kelly Gordon, American yacht captain and instagrammer, Stavros Katsikadis, CEO of the prestigious Flisvos Marina and president of the Association of Greek Marinas, and finally Randy Durband, CEO of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, an NGO created by the United Nations, and an expert in tourism.

To round off these two days of debate and networking, the Smart & Sustainable Marina Awards 2024 were presented. Alcudiamar was awarded in the category of the most sustainable and intelligent marina. The jury was formed by Bernard D'Alessandri (Secretary General of the Yacht Club de Monaco and President of the Yachting Cluster Monaco), José Marco Casellini (CEO of Monaco Marina Management), Irina Maria Peterson (Founder of Ocean Amazon), Fabiana Maccarini (Senior Consultant & PhD in Geotechnical Engineering), Patrick Troin (Superyacht Captain), Oscar Siches (member of Global Marine Business Advisers), Luis Balbin (Superyacht Captain) and Adolfo Oria (Superyacht Captain).

Other categories awarded the best Start-up, best Scale-up and best architecture studio.

In the words of Mar Vera, ‘it has been a real pleasure to participate in these two days of intense networking and fellowship with such high-level professionals in the sector. This award is a recognition of the hard work of the entire Alcudiamar team over many years, so I also thank each of them and the event organisers for this honour’.
