At Alcudiamar we believe that there is no better way than leading by example. To our sustainability and environmental management we have to add a programme of training and dissemination actions that we carry out throughout the year.

These training and awareness workshops are developed through partners and stakeholders with whom Alcudiamar collaborates on sustainability and training. The objectives are clear: to disseminate and raise awareness among future (and present) generations of the importance of conserving the marine environment, to carry out sustainable actions in our day-to-day work, and to publicise the sustainable management model we have at Alcudiamar.

One of these actions took place last June. The 3rd grade students of the Nuestra Señora de la Consolación School in Alcudia were able to enjoy a morning of workshops given by the Palma Aquarium Foundation. "Let's protect the nest" is a workshop where experts from the Foundation explained their programme for the rescue and recovery of sea turtles on the Balearic coasts. The students learned about the reproductive behaviour of turtles, how to recognise and protect a nest, and the threats faced by this species. They also learned how to act correctly in the event of finding a stranded and injured turtle in the sea or on the beach. In the workshop "Guardians of the Sea" they learned to identify species of the Balearic Mediterranean, curiosities about them, all with fun group games.

The Wind Pirates water sports school, located in Alcudiamar, is another important pillar in Alcudiamar's training activities. Hundreds of children pass through this school every summer, enjoying its campuses from June to August. This month, the children of the "Viu la Mar" programme have been able to enjoy, with the help of Fundació Marilles, the aquatic photography workshops held as part of the MARE photography exhibition at Alcudiamar.

Combining sport, solidarity and sustainability is another of our objectives. For this reason, in the programme of the IV Alcudiamar Trophy Regatta - Projecte Home Balears, the environmental workshops of the Love the Mediterranean days played a leading role in the agenda. Through different actors such as the Mallorcan Start-Up True World, different workshops on awareness, knowledge of species and sailing took place on board the electric school sailboat Galaxie. The workshops were given by experts from organisations such as Clean Wave Education, Palma Aquarium Foundation and Mar de Fondo.

Alcudiamar also collaborates in international educational programmes. As part of the European EU WeMed NaTour programme, students from the Maria Immacolata Institute of Imiberg (Bergamo, Italy) visited our facilities, where they were able to see first-hand the environmental management actions we carry out at Alcudiamar, as well as the innovations we have developed in our port aimed at improving water quality, water recirculation, recycling, energy saving measures and intelligent management.
